We are proud to have the opportunity to care for the children in this community ages 2 years old - 7 years old (or starting 3rd grade). Finding the right care for your child should give you a sense of comfort and confidence knowing that your child's well-being and development is the top priority. This site has been designed for parents to make the most informed decision for the preschool best for you and your child.

Our Mission Statement

To guide children in discovering the world around them, to inspire a love of learning, to assist them in becoming caring, empathetic and productive members of their community and to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. Our focus is to provide a child centered play based educational experience, promoting social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. We pledge to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that will insure that children are safe, engaged and educated while promoting confidence, independence and self esteem. We will strive to promote inclusive relationships with children and families that are bias free and respectful of each individuals unique place in the world we all share.

Both of our kids attend Maggie's Happy Hearts preschool and we are grateful every day that we are a part of this school. Our kids started going there (full-time Monday-Friday) two years ago--when our daughter was 3 and our son was 2 years old. Both kids have flourished in Maggie's home and to this day they drag their feet when I come to pick them up because they are concentrating on finishing a craft project or playing with their best friends in the large back yard or indoor gym. Maggie is truly an artist and helps the kids with countless creative crafts--they also learn songs together, all the while learning how to be respectful of each other. My kids have even learned how to clean up their messes singing the clean up song! Maggie also incorporates fun ways to learn the alphabet and has a library for the kids to check out books. She also feeds them breakfast and lunch, and gives them morning and afternoon snacks too! She's been great to work with on the whole potty training adventure -- trying various strategies-- and now that my daughter is getting ready for full-time kindergarten, Maggie is helping us ween her off of nap time! In many ways, Maggie offers your kids what feels like a second family home experience. We are friends with several of the families there so our kids also get to play together outside of school days and will get to stay friends for many years to come. One of our friends drives south to Milwaukie from their home (and jobs) in Portland because it's worth it!!!

Our family has been so pleased with Maggie and Keith-- we've been going for 4 years and on our 2nd kid, so we know what we're talking about! They structure the days with lots of opportunities for individual and group play, set kids up to learn at any pace, and teach good rules that everyone can follow. A nice balance of indoor activity and outdoor play time (plus they turned their garage into a great indoor play park, so kids get ample opportunity to burn off toddler energy, even during the long rainy season!). Maggie and Keith are friendly, professional, trustworthy and kind; they open their homes and their hearts to you and your family, which is the peace of mind that every parent is looking for!
